A NEW WAY FORWARD
Our Mission
To inspire and empower youth, families, and communities facing unique challenges by harnessing the transformative power of horses. Through our Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) and Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT) programmes, we teach essential life, relationship, and leadership skills, facilitating positive, lasting change. Our goal is to help participants unlock their full potential, build resilience, and create thriving communities.
Our Vision
In collaboration with schools, organisations, and communities, Equine Dynamics will empower youth, families, and individuals to build a comprehensive toolkit of sustainable life skills through Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy. By overcoming challenges and enhancing emotional well-being, we aim to open doors to brighter futures, long-term growth, and new opportunities for all.

Meet Our Team

FOUNDER, OWNER & LEAD FACILITATOR
Meet Leanne Benjamin
Equine Dynamics was founded by Leanne Benjamin, who has nearly two decades of experience in the mental health and social service fields. She has owned and ridden horses since she was 13 years old, and her partner Glen also rides.
In her 18 years working with children, youth, and families, she discovered a passion for facilitating programmes that improve their lives. Leanne has always wanted to incorporate horses into her work, and the right opportunity arrived thanks to her late Auntie Fay who was a huge influence, horse lover, and inspiration in helping this dream come to life! Now, alongside horses, she helps people build various life skills through Equine Assisted Learning.

Recently, Leanne was approached by Carol Drew to work alongside her providing Equine Therapy. Together they provide a life changing service by bringing their own skills of learning and therapy together in partnership with horses to help people with lifes challenges.

EQUINE ASSISTED COUNSELLOR
Meet Carol Drew
Carol Drew has been a counsellor for over twenty years, working with a diverse range of issues across all ages, stages, genders, and backgrounds. With a variety of therapeutic approaches at her disposal, she believes that the best work is done through Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT).

Perhaps it's because the horses themselves do the work, allowing her to stand in awe as transformation unfolds—her role is to facilitate this powerful process. These magnificent, sentient beings have the unique ability to "read" humans and bring forth profound insights simply by being present in the moment. When we choose to engage with what is revealed, true transformation can occur.
Horses work in perfect harmony with humans, using their natural capacity to heal and aid recovery from emotional wounds and pain, with no expectations or agendas. Come and experience it for yourself—witness the magic unfold.

Meet Twilight
Twilight is a 9hh Shetland pony mare who has been in the family since 2014, making her the longest-standing member of the herd and is a spritely 20 years old. Known for her sassy personality, Twilight’s middle name is a nod to her confident, independent nature—she always knows what she wants! A bay and white pinto, Twilight is fluffy, round, and has a big love for food. She enjoys being part of the crew, often getting into mischief. Twilight has a way of challenging people to step into their leadership and maintain firm boundaries—indecisiveness and second-guessing don’t work with this girl!

Meet Tommy
Tommy is a 6-year-old Clydesdale x Thoroughbred, currently standing at 16.3hh but still growing. A bay with four white socks and fluffy feathers, Tommy has been with Equine Dynamics since January 2022 and is Leanne’s riding horse. He has a passion for learning new things and loves going on adventures. Known as a big teddy bear, Tommy adores cuddles and carrots. His calm, quiet, and patient nature makes him an excellent teacher, though he is also a sensitive soul who thrives on reassurance. Tommy loves to please, making him a wonderful partner for learning and growth.

Meet Dazzle
Dazzle is a 16.2hh, 11-year-old Thoroughbred mare who first joined the herd when she was 4 years old. After a time away to be a mother, Dazzle returned as a therapy horse. Despite her soft, cuddly nature, Dazzle takes time to trust, having faced challenges in previous homes. She excels as a teacher, particularly in Equine Therapy, using her intuition and empathy to connect with individuals who have experienced trauma. Dazzle is a beautiful bay with two white socks and a striking blaze, embodying grace and gentleness.
